Before real fishing: Palomar knot and inspection
Learn the connection and inspection sequence.
- Pass doubled line through the eye, leaving a loop large enough to pass over the hook; use a suitable alternative for a small eye.
- Tie a loose overhand knot with the doubled line, then pass the large loop over the whole hook without crossed strands.
- Moisten and tighten evenly, inspect the seated knot and line, leave an appropriate tag and test the connection.
What follows tying the knot?
Use it on real water
This is a real-tackle preparation guide. Knot strength and animated tying are not simulated; clicking steps does not replace inspecting the actual knot.
